Our Story
CaliSoul is one of the most challenging and rewarding adventures of my life, this is a story about fulfilling a childhood dream of starting a clothing brand, and using my God given talent, in a positive way. I’ve been working towards this for the past 20 years of my life. In high school I used to screen print tees in my garage with my friends and pass them out at the local skate park. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion to do important things with my art.
Every CaliSoul design is inspired by real experiences, real people, real places and the stories that never get old. I am a California native and I have always felt a deep connection to the place I call home. I remember going to the beach with my family every weekend and our annual camping trips to the mountains. I find myself using those same experiences as the foundation of what CaliSoul is really about “family”. That’s why I didn’t have to look far when choosing the “official” mascot of the CaliSoul brand, our family dog Bentley a.k.a "Boo" dog. I wanted an iconic image that would connect with people, while also capturing the wild beauty of California with a never ending adventurous spirit and loyalty to family. Bentley embodies the spirit of the CaliSoul and is a constant source of inspiration throughout the CaliSoul art and design process.
I am a self taught artist with a degree in graphic design. When I decided to start CaliSoul I really wanted to bring back the old school way of doing things, by creating each design by hand. I remember being a kid and going to the local skate shop to pick out a new skateboard deck. I was always super stoked to see the new illustrated graphics on the boards. We want our CaliSoul customers, to have that same feeling I had when you pick out your CaliSoul gear.
CaliSoul is more than a clothing brand, it’s a way of life. We live in a world that is very dark sometimes. I want CaliSoul to be a source of inspiration, motivation, happiness and joy! The CaliSoul brand is for everyone, there are no secret handshakes or special requirements. Just, come as you are, but you have to be willing to smile a lot and have a good time. We support the weekend warriors, gypsy souls and never-ending dreamers.
I currently reside in Northern California and run CaliSoul with my wife Kacy. My ultimate goal is to use CaliSoul as a platform to help support local charities that benefit animals and families. I plan on doing this grass roots style… one person and one t-shirt at a time.
